Ristiawan Muji Laksono, MD, FIPP, is an Anesthesiologist and Pain Physician. He received his Anesthesiology specialist from the University of Indonesia in 2011 and a pain management consultant from Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia, in 2016. He attended Fellowship pain interventional at St. Anna Hospital, Geldrop, the Netherlands, in 2016 and Pain Management Master Class, Singapore, in 2018. He also passed the FIPP examination in Budapest, Hungary, in 2019. Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono has been a member of the International Association For the study of Pain (IASP) since 2013 and an Elite Member of the World Institute of Pain (WIP) starting in 2019.
Currently, Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono serves as a lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University/ Dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital. He also serves as the Chairman of the Pain Center in the Brawijaya University Hospital. Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono also now focuses on multidisciplinary pain center establishment. He now focuses on developing the research, education, and training center in pain management. Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono is now active as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Anaesthesia and Pain.
In the research field, he now focuses on interventional pain management. His current study is related to the biomolecular mechanism of Pulsed radiofrequency in chronic pain management. For the past five years, Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono has published several books, book chapters, and publications related to anesthesiology and pain management. The latest textbook chapter in 2021 is entitled Intravenous paracetamol: Features and applications in the “The Neuroscience of Anesthetics and Analgesics.” He also authored several papers, one of them “Serine racemase interaction with N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors antagonist reveals the potential alternative target of chronic pain treatment: Molecular docking study” in 2022 as the preliminary study of pulsed radiofrequency study. He also authored several papers focusing on pain management, such as Adductor canal block is superior to intravenous analgesia for multimodal postoperative pain management in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, Ultrasound-guided interscalene block is effective for anesthesia, and postoperative analgesia for clavicle fracture surgery. In the professional field, Dr. Ristiawan Muji Laksono attends several symposiums and workshops, serving as a speaker and instructor from basic to advance pain management.
